Actor Richard Benjamin directs a script based on the novel I MARRIED A DEAD MAN by Cornell Woolrich, which also inspired the 1950 Barbara Stanwyck vehicle NO MAN OF HER OWN.

Anything is possible in the movies!
Let me start off by saying...Yes, it's a Chick Flick! Most romantic comedies are. This is a pretty good one though. It has a great cast including Shirley MacLaine, Ricki Lake and Brendan Fraser. The movie is basically another Cinderella story with a couple twists and some mystery. It's not exactly a family film. It's rated PG-13 and includes a bit of really rough language it could have well done without. That sort of thing is hard to avoid nowadays. You can overlook it and enjoy the rest of the movie. This is a personal favorite of one of my wife's sisters and a niece. She borrowed it from them. We liked it, but it's not at the top of our favorites list. A stranger, Hugh Winterbourne, helps her out by pretending that his wife's ticket is Connie's. He then takes her to join him and his wife in their cabin. The chaos begins. After the train crashes and Hugh and his wife die, Connie is mistaken for Hugh's pregnant wife. Since the Winterbourne's had not yet met Hugh's wife, Connie finds herself pretending to be his widow so she can care for her child, but she feels guilty because of the deception. Eventually she falls in love with Hugh's brother, Bill, and the rest of the Winterbourne family. Ahhh, but who's sending her notes asking who she "really" is? You'll have to watch the movie to find out. My wife and I give it two thumbs up! Overall this is a very funny and entertaining movie.

WINTERBOURNE ALONG WITH HER NEWBORN SON~ CINDERELLA TALE...GREAT ROMANCE MOVIE~ Connie Doyle has turned 18 and is picked up by a seedy guy who ends up making her pregnant and dumping her~ alone and homeless and due any minute she ends up on a train where she meets wealthy Hugh Winterbourne (Brendan Fraser) and his 9 month pregnant wife Patricia~ a train wreck has Connie in the hospital and is assumed to be Patricia Winterbourne ..the REAL Patrica and Hugh died on the train~ ....confused Connie goes along for the ride~...and ends up in the home of WEALTHY AND GRIEVING ... WINTERBOURNE"..(Shirley MacLaine)(Hughes Mother)..WHO HAS NEVER SEEN THE DAUGHTER IN LAW AND WECOMES CONNIE NOW pretending to be PATRICIA WINTERBOURNE~...I never cared for Ricki Lake but she is good as the lower class Connie who shakes up the UPPER class Winterbourne home~ along the way.....now Fraser gets to play HUGHES TWIN......"BILL" who at ever step of the way is suspicious of Connie /Patricia~...the FUN is watching the ever clever and 'fun' MacClaine steal every scene she is in~ the humor is low key~ and this is a wonderful family with problems inspite of their wealth~ we see Connie/Patricia growing closer to Bill (Fraser) and now is suddenly being blackmailed~....the EX sleezyboy friend shows up and decides Connie can BUY HIS SILENCE~....MEAN WHILE....TOSS IN A HYSTERICAL GAY CUBAN BUTLER, FRASER IS CHARMING AS BILL~ AND RICKI LAKES is more likeable as the movie progesses~ but the when the EX SLEEZY BOYFIEND ends up DEAD in a cheap hotel~ the mystery who killed him and the HYSTERICAL COVER UP BEGINS~...A GREAT LOVE STORY~ and added is a wonderul theme song~ I GIVE THIS A SOLID 8 OUT OF 10 FOR MODERN CINDERELLA TALE~...GREAT BEYOND FUNNY ENDING~....CHARMING, AND I GIVE SCENE STEALER SHIRLEY MACLAINE A 15 OUT OF 10 FOR TOTAL EXCELLENT FUN~ IF YOU FOUND THIS REVIEW HELPFUL PLEASE REMEMBER TO VOTE~

Poignant and cute story of poverty-stricken (and pregnant) Ricky Lake bumbling into a rich family. They think she's the not-yet-met wife of their Prodigal Son whom she just happened to bump into on a train about to crash. The new mother has no where else to go, so she and her infant accept the hospitality and wealth of the would-be grandmother (Shirley MacClaine, who has a big but faulty heart), family priest, staff, and everyone else except the suspicious twin brother (Brendan Frasier) and all their snooty friends. Ricky keeps trying to Do The Right Thing and no one can figure out why. They all pull together when the baby's true father--after a blackmail attempt--shows up dead and the police start asking some pointed questions. --hrdwarewizPoignant and cute story of poverty-stricken (and pregnant) Ricky Lake bumbling into a rich family. W real love exiell i so it for the first time and the caracter of Fraser Brendan so actor from the 50 good looking, those eyes the sstatue, and Ricki Lake they blend together as a couple, make my want to go to be in that family,is funny i dislike the guy the want to make money from the situation not the son, is a great movie ,not with naket women or men aboth in bed sex sex(i know that sex sell but real love exist to wy need to look love well find us like MRS WINTERBOURNE im going to be 49 and still watting for him.BELIEVE.
