Just looking at Nokia 8850 you know instinctively that there is some very sophisticated technology inside. But though there are a lot of new features in Nokia 8850, Nokia never develops new technology for its own sake, but in order to make it easier for you to communicate. Just call out a name, and Nokia 8850 places the call for you. You can save 8 names in Nokia 8850 to be activated for voice dialling. Once the name and number are saved, you activate voice dialling with a long press on the "names" key. Say a name and Nokia 8850 starts dialling, confirming your choice by repeating it and showing the name and number on the display. With Nokia 8850 you can include pictures in your short messages. There are several default designs already installed in Nokia 8850, all of which are replaceable. Predictive text input makes it fast and easy to write messages on the keypad of Nokia 8850. The phone contains a built-in dictionary, with support for over ten major European languages. Each time you press a key Nokia 8850 compares the word you have written so far with the words in the database and selects the most likely word. So you can write by pressing one key per letter, instead of two or three as with an ordinary keypad. If there are several possible words, you choose a new one by pressing the star key. You can input new words and names into the database. Nokia 8850 has an infrared link for wireless communication with a compatible Nokia phone or a compatible PC or printer. And Nokia 8850 supports standard communications protocols. You can transfer, e.g. phone numbers with the infrared link between compatible phones. You can download new phone numbers and ringing tones over the air. And Nokia 8850 has a TTML browser, so you can receive new menu items to your phone making it easy to access services from the operator.

Nokia 8850 - Still a classic
No color screen, no camera, no mp3, no polyphonic rings ? Doesn't matter ! Mobile phones are meant for talking and with this little jewel you do just that. What I really like: strong reception, good sound quality, battery lasts for days... and ofcourse, the looks. Aluminium body (at least parts of it) make this mobile phone different from most other mobile phones.

A supposed luxury item in its day....
I purchased this phone as a gift for my brother- he is an avid phone collector! To be honest there is nothing about this particular phone that i like....Many years ago i owned an original one and that was a totally different experience. Dislikes? Where do i start? The phone has an extremely poor screen which fades after a few seconds and flickers comes back into focus and then fades again. Not what you expect from a Nokia. The manual is a poor photocopy....The IMEI on the box did not match that of the handset.... would i purchase anything electrical from ebay again? Probably not! Especially as the 'returns accepted' means nothing of the sort!I purchased this phone as a gift for my brother- he is an avid phone collector! Nokia 8850 Mobile Phone
I bought it few weeks ago because I love pretty retro phones. It has games,active flip. The phone's size is perfect for carrying in a pocket and the battery has a pretty good lifespan of roughly 3 hours. My only complaint is that the menu system on the phone makes you click four times before you can find someone in the address book, set an alarm, or perform a additional functions. Other phones I've owned have simpler menus and get you to important features easily.
