    Life in Jamestown was tough.

    This book was incredibly enlightening and very disturbing as it described without gloss just how brutal and heartless the foundation of the colony of Virginia and by extension this country was. I was enthralled from the beginning and deeply humbled and somewhat shamed to know the motivations and actions of our forefathers were not as pristine as revisionist historians have led me to believe. I highly recommend this book to any student of truthful historical insights as regards this great country's founding.
