I'm really loving this Greatest Hits 2 cd set. I do have a single Greatest Hits but it really missed a bunch of great tunes. This one covers their career pretty well. It includes all the stuff you really want to hear and MORE! Maybe a total Thin Lizzy nut would think there are songs missing, but for my ears and money, this is fantastic. It's remastered for the ultimate sound quality too. Grab one!!

Often slightly forgotten in the world of hard rock due to giants like Van Halen, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Guns N' Roses, Bon Jovi and Led Zeppelin, Thin Lizzy, noted for legendary bassist Phil Lynott and just one of the greatest guitarists there is, Gary Moore, prove in this excellent collection of their greatest hits that they can hold their own with the best of them. The best songs on this album are the anthemic "The Boys Are Back in Town", and Gary Moore and Phil Lynott's "Parisienne Walkways", the absolute best song about Paris there is! The other songs, while not reaching the heights of those two tracks, are still as brilliant as they come. Notable highlights include "Jailbreak", "Waiting for an Alibi", "Killer On The Loose", "Black Rose" and "The Rocker". However, the album also shows off some of Phil Lynott and Gary Moore's solo songs, including the previously mentioned "Parisienne Walkways", "Yellow Pearl" by Phil Lynott (the theme song of Top of the Pops from 1981-1986), "King's Call" and "Dear Miss Lonely Hearts", which proves that Lynott and Moore can hold their own against the songs they created with Thin Lizzy. Presented in two discs, this is an excellent work from an excellent group of hard rockers! 5/5Vollständige Rezension lesen
Bought this off Ebay for a nostalgic revisit to those great singles Thin Lizzy produced in the 70's & 80's. The Boys Are Back In Town; Rosalie; Jailbreak;Waiting for An Alibi;Do Anything You Want To; Whiskey In The Jar & Cowboy Song(Live & Previously Unreleased), are easily the stand out tracks and some of the other songs struggle to reach the same heights. Perhaps I haven't given them chance yet.
One of my favourite bands of all time, these are their hits, some of them live and some studio recordings. the combination of Phil Lynott's lyrics and the bands musical skills is awesome. The Irish undertones add another dimension to their style of rock. I like to listen to this when I am working
