This sequel to "The Blob" of 1958 finds the man-eating mass up to its old tricks. Known as "The Movie That J.R. Shot", as Larry Hagman directed it during a few weeks off, for fun, on a small budget and with the help of his friends. The Blob is resurrected in this installment when a piece of frozen blob is brought back from the Arctic and allowed to thaw. Very soon, the bloody-red wobbler is sucking up victims by the pseudopod-full.

Scared me as a kid!! Thought there really is a Blob
Some of the first times I seen this movie, I was really spooked by the Blob! The color they used for the blob, Bloody red. That was the spook of it! As more time past by and having seen this movie a number of times more in my kid life. I was really spooked cause, I used to think that there REALLY is a blob in REAL life. I had many dreams as a kid even until about 15 yrs old, about the blob being real. I was really depressed (in the dream) cause I see that the Blob CANNOT be killed, it can only be STOPPED. In some dreams, we had a blob at or near our home!! Very depressed, and scary at that, cause we HAVE TO make sure the blob in the freezer ALWAYS!! In these times (especially when I was 10,11,and 12 yrs) I COULD NOT bear to watch this movie on a color TV especially if its a large screen, ... Even my sister was scared of the blob too! The parts of movie that gave me the ultimate SPOOK were: 1) The way a part of the blob started to protrude from the body of blob and GOT the kitten by the paw and kitten meowing like crazy! 2) When blob started to creep up to Chester's wife, and then engulfs her and 'strands' of blob starts to attach itself to all over her!! 3) Especially when blob GOT chester! When chester didn't even have a clue that jelly red creature was RIGHT UNDER HIM waiting for chester to sit down! Then minutes later when Lisa comes in house, TO SEE CHESTER FULLY ENGULFED with the BRIGHT bloody red jelly creature with just a little bit of his face out. Then suddenly Chester starts yelling LOUDLY knowing he needs serious help! Knowing he's is a goner 3) When blob come out of drain of barber's sink, waiting to get the barber and his customer. Then barber unrealizingly stuffs customers head into the bloody jelly creature, then (especially) when barber arms becomes covered by the jelly red creature! 4) When blob sneaks up on couple in the yellow truck, as a small peice, Lisa Clark rolls up the window, then suddenly blob start to cover the entire windsheild of truck, a BRIGHT RED color, the color of blood, very creepy. But they cheated death when Lisa accidently turns on A/C. 5) The way blob 'spills' into the bowling alley through the pins opening, then starts to pull people towards it and they start to yell for help! Sucks! (I used to think) But now I think that was a laugh for me to be scared of this movie in my childhood!! hahahaha! It was not long ago, that I found this movie while 'riding the web'. When I watched it for the first time in 20 years! I was overjoyed by watching it again. I now have to comment: This Movie DID A GREAT JOB here hahahaha! Beware the Blob did a very good job of scaring the DAYLIGHTs of of me hahaha

B-Movie from early 70's. Lots of fun.
This movie was directed by Larry(J.R.)Hagman. Supposedly a direct sequel to The Blob. No way anyone can watch this & take it seriously.Can't even believe anyone who worked on this did it with a straight face. However, loads of fun with an all star cast. Cindy(Laverne & Shirley) Williams. Dick(8 Is Enough)Van Patton. Burgess Merideth, Larry Hagman himself & many more. Watch this. It's a great laugh as early 70's Hollywood has a great time creating an incredibly worthless, funny film. Anyone with a love for funny B-movies will have a ball. A true cult classic!!This movie was directed by Larry(J.R.)Hagman. Supposedly a direct sequel to The Blob. No way anyone can watch this & take it seriously.Can't even believe anyone who worked on this did it with a straight face. However, loads of fun with an all star cast. Sorry-but this release has been "PG'd", which is slowly happening to many off-beat "R" rated movies (and even some current Sci-Fi movies) - The blood, the gore,nudity : are all gone- looks like a bad re-edited Walt Disney movie now... A real highlight was the consuming shot of the great Godfrey Cambridge- now it looks like he has some jello on his face. No mass-group or ANY slow-mo absorptions. All nice and tidy. And very boring. It's a sad edit. Maybe a VHS copy would be the original-but looks doubtful, as the VHS was issued in 1991- and seeing the original on cable in the 70s and 80s- only a taped version of those airings would be watchable...
