I had Magical Mystery Tour on tape as a child. I also dated a couple of people who had it on CD. After the demise of my last relationship, I decided to go buy it for myself. Magical Mystery Tour starts out with the theme song, followed by Fool on the Hill, which is a typical McCartney ballad. Your Mother Should Know is a great singalong song in the vein of When I'm Sixty-Four from Sgt. Pepper's. The second half of the album is more psychedelic and much cooler in my opinion. I Am the Walrus is my favorite Beatles song. The last five songs are all huge hits for the Beatles; Hello Goodbye, Strawberry Fields Forever, Penny Lane, Baby You're a Rich Man, and All You Need is Love. This album nicely bridges the gap between the Beatles mid-1960's style into acid pop.
This is the standardized CD of MMT. It has the songs from the original UK EP release, plus some non-album songs that were out in singles at the time, like Strawberry Fields Forever and Penny Lane. This is a Japanese issue and its packaging, as is the case with most Japan releases, has extra goodies. The music is top notch, and if you're reading this, you probably know that. This album is eclipsed by its most famous predecessor, Sgt. Pepper, but it's a great representation of The Beatles' musical progression started with Revolver and Rubber Soul. Pick it up if you don't have it!
A Basel's album. Yes, very good, thank you, album, the extras, thank you.

I bought it for my teenage daughter....she is a guitarist and I know she enjoys the older tunes. It's great to find these tunes on CD.
