In RPG Maker, players with absolutely no programming experience or prior game-production skills can make their own role-playing quests and save them to the PlayStation memory card for themselves or a friend to enjoy. The world creation in the game is tile-based, and the entire game is done in the 2D style of 16-bit era RPGs. Players can create characters, towns, dungeons and script action to move along at a certain pace. They will place treasures, enter dialogue and create events that are triggered by certain actions within the game world. <br><br>Although players can create nearly anything they like with the game, it must be more or less contained in a fantasy theme, as the only graphics available adhere to that specific genre. Within that genre, however, the possibilities are varied, and you can make your new RPG a massive epic or a short jaunt. It can be utterly serious or laced with juvenile humor. Also contained within RPG Maker is a mode called Anime Maker, where those with the desire can create 2D pictures and animate them accordingly.

Let your inner dungeon master out.
I would like to start of by saying this is not a game but a game maker. There is a brief game given to you to fool around with in order to learn some of the basics of designing, but you learn more from reading the two included manuals. This creator is very insightful and lets you feel like an actual game developer without going through the tedious hours of learning code and design. Some of this games strong points is that its easy to get into and you can make your first game in just a couple of hours. However you are limited on the sprites and tiles you can use while designing, so that means if you want to make a sci-fi game and not a fantasy you may be out of luck here. Another problem is the fact that there is really no way of publishing your game or getting out onto the web which is a ... I would like to start of by saying this is not a game but a game maker. What would normally take 100 people a few years to build can now be constructed by one person over the course of a few sleepless weeks. It's not going to be easy, but that's why this title is so amazing: it gives you the tools, but the ideas and execution all come from you. Write, design, and map out every detail from the storyline to the dungeon designs. Organize and construct each town (if you want any towns, that is) choosing item locations, weaponry, and even enemy characteristics. You can even take some extra time and design and animate all of your own characters! Every cutscene, introduction, and game ending that you could ever imagine is possible, and all it takes is your imagination and hard work. There ... There are so many monsters, skill sets, scenarios, and characters to be created you might think about setting aside a sizable chunk of time if you want your game to last more than a few measly minutes. If you've got the time you'll be happy to spend it on this meticulous creation. Now it's just a matter of finding someone who's willing to play it .

The possibilities are almost endless and you would enjoy playing or have someone else play this after putting all that hard work into it.

This game is genius! It's allows the player/user to create a new and fascinating world that they can customize in any direction they feel... But this is like God just leaving the lumber and telling Noah He needs a boat but didn't give him instructions. The game is incredibly fun and has tons of hours of possibilities... Majority of those hours using the "Guess and Check" method. Their isn't any direction in this game and it pretty much leaves you sitting there scratching your head. Once you finally do shell out an RPG of miraculous wonder(sarcasm) you will never want to touch the thing again, let alone play the game YOU just created...This game is genius!
