I've used the following router brands: Belkin D-Link Buffalo ASUS All my routers in the past have not been able to handle torrents and video streaming across a 1.5mb connection, without the router eventually going into a spin and rebooting itself. I found the Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH had nice specs and load of RAM to flash with OpenWRT and DD-WRT. However, I found it had stability issues when running transmission. It also had issues getting stable 270mbit connection. In comes the RT-N13U-B1 router. No need to flash it with OpenWRT or DD-WRT, its standard firmware is wonderful, feature rich and doesn't reboot. It sustains a constant 270-300Mbit connection, and has a higher range then the WZR-HP-G300NH. It also consumes less energy and therefore produces less heat. Great if its located in a bedroom , or your getting ready for the carbon tax :( It looks great, and has internal antennas (though it still manages get better range then the WZR-HP-G300NH which has 2 external antennas). Its the best router I have ever owned!! I purchased it brand new at a bargain price of $60, including postage. I purchased it from an eBay supplier in the USA, so the power supply provided was USA type plug. However, the voltage was 110 - 240v, so all I needed was a USA-AU adapter and it was ready to go. It can handle USB hub plugged into the back, extending the number of devices you can have connected to it. Ie.. USB Printer, USB Flash Drive, USB External HD and a USB scanner all at once!! It supports both Linux and Windows file formats and is built on the linux platform. Hotplug, pnp and samba will auto mount your USB devices without any config. Its also capable of showing multiple devices in its web interface. Something DD-WRT cannot do (It only displays the first drive connected to the HUB). Something OpenWRT requires config and package installs to get working properly (As OpenWRT is just a shell firmware package to start with, or on first install). Your able to download Torrent, HTTP and FTP downloads through the router without having a PC or Server connected to it. Although you do need a PC to start the download initially). Eliminating the need for a PC to be powered up to perform the same task. If you get Green tech HD's, the energy footprint produced is very small in comparison to running a PC to do the same task!! ( Easy was to test this is to put your hand behind your PC's fan, after it's been on for an hour, then put your hand next to the RT-N13U-B1 and you'll see the heat produced from the PC is far greater!!). The Easy QOS works very well. When activated, I'm able to tell the difference in speed when sharing the internet with people that are streaming and torrenting. The QOS system is able to let me use my remote desktop connection to work without the same lag experienced without QOS activated. Activating QOS can be as simple as pressing 2 on screen buttons ( 1 of those buttons being the 'save' button ). This is pretty much 1 touch QOS control. I find that most of my previous routers could not handle using all the installed features at once. The RT-N13U-B1 has no problem handling the full feature set being in use and active at one time. The firewall offers features only found in industrial routers. You are able to drill down to the packet types, if you know what your doing. The only thing lacking is 1GIG ether-net ports. It only had 100Mbit ports.Vollständige Rezension lesen
The worst router I ever had! Constantly freezes, especially in the administrator UI, and only returns with hard reboots. Also takes several minutes to save configurations changes, when not freezes of course. Beware this "thing", will damage without any warning any NTFS disk plugged into USB port. In the bright side has great hardware and with a decent firmware will be a excellent router.

Don't buy this router if you intend to keep seeding your torrents without a PC. The firware (latest available ATM) is not mature and has a lot of bugs. Download Master doesn't recognize my external HD.
Best buy for home networking. Great reliable and powerful enough to play all your wi fi tvs and stereo.
