It suuure was,is, and always will be mighty fine- watching this ''ROOTIN'TOOTIN'' dvd boxset of the first of Gerry ''SUPERMARIONATION'' Anderson's pilot animated series-note-made in 1959!!I was a year old then, but got to see the series when i was 6/7 years old.I like this product, and, obviously, a G.A. fan, like the way it is set in the wild west.As good as, in my opinion, watching all the other G.A.series!''A MEMORABLE CLASSIC!DON'T DELAY!BUY TODAY!''
A superb collection of all the episodes of this first Gerry Anderson series.

I bought this item despite not remembering it when it was first shown on television, purely because of my liking for the later series of Gerry Anderson such as Supercar, Fireball XL5, Stingray, Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlett, and Joe 90 as a child. Firstly it must be said that I have never been a fan of Westerns or Musicals, and each and every 15-minute episode features the hero singing one of about 5 or 6 different songs, and begins with title music which seems to have little to do with the images on screen. That aside I found the idea of the story a good one - the hero is a sheriff who helps a young Native American boy, and is rewarded by the chief with four magic feathers. The feathers enable him to be able to talk to his faithful companions, a horse and a dog, and for his guns to fire on their own when he desires. A succession of regular 'baddies' are foiled by Sheriff Tex Tucker, ably abetted by his horse, his dog, and the friendly townsfolk. Worth owning if you remember the series, if only for the fact that until the release of the DVD this series had remained hidden for 40 years. Cannot be expected to hold the attention of the young target audience today (unless they are fascinated by the obvious puppet strings, like cheesy songs, or are addicted to black and white television), but may well appeal to those who watched it avidly the first time around, who would today be in their fities!Vollständige Rezension lesen
