Need for Speed: ProStreet brings the underground street-racing scene into the light with sanctioned competitions held across the globe. Multiple events are held on such real-world tracks as Tokyo's Shuto Expressway, Willow Springs, and the Autobahn. The goal throughout each point-to-point or closed circuit course is to be crowned "street king" by defeating rivals in drag, grip, drift, and speed challenges. A wide assortment of cosmetic and performance enhancements are available to tune cars, and a real-time damage system means prized vehicles can actually be totaled during races.<br><br>The PS3, Xbox 360, and PC versions of the game allow users to custom design their rides on the Internet and then save their "blueprints" to an online profile for use in races. Another new online feature is the ability to create custom challenges called "race days," where players set the location, race type, car classes, and other variables before sending out invitations to friends. Thanks to the sheer number of race days you'll need to win, it will take a long time to get to Ryo. Each race day consists of a number of different events. Most of these will be familiar to anyone who's played previous Need for Speed games. Grip races are standard races with eight cars on the track, and your goal is to finish first. Other events have you trying to get the fastest time or highest speed through checkpoints, or the best time out of your class of cars. Drift racing is back, but has been revamped and is actually fun this time around since you don't lose all your points for going off the track. You'll also be doing a lot of drag racing. It's fun for a bit, but gets old quickly thanks in no small part to the preceding minigame in which you have to heat up your tires; it's lame, ... Need for Speed ProStreet
I play racing games because I love the cars and this one has a number of very nice ones. Muscle cars to exotics; 60s and 70s to current models. I love buying them and customizing them. I get a little frustrated with the childish look of some of the body kits, hoods and wings but generally this isn't much of an aggravation. I enjoy modifying the cars as much if not more than the racing. I particularly like the "real" race venues like Willow Springs and Infineon... more of these would be better. Things like the Chicago skyline are fun too. The racing is pretty good though not the best physics engine. It would be nice to see damage and I am not sure that the various cars really have any unique "dynmanic characteristics" but I still enjoy the game very much and remain a big fan of the ... I loved how this version has the drag race.I also love how you can change the set ups on upgrades.(Gear ratio for an example)I did not like how this game is based around a car show/gran prix shootout.This game doesn't come near as good as the previous 2 versions(Most Wanted Black Edition and Carbon Collectors Edition).If the previous 2 versions had the drag race and the upgraded stages to the cars components,they would have been 10 out of 10's easy.I loved how this version has the drag race.I also love how you can change the set ups on upgrades.(Gear ratio for an example)I did not like how this game is based around a car show/gran prix shootout.This game doesn't come near as good as the previous 2 versions(Most Wanted Black Edition and Carbon Collectors Edition).If the previous 2 versions had the drag race and the upgraded stages to the cars components,they would have been 10 out of 10's easy.

Need for Speed ProStreet PC
I was surprised when I saw that this game was rated so low, because being a car enthusiast, I look for car games to satisfy every aspect of automobiles. Need for Speed PS offers every aspect of cars that you can think of. Every piece of the car and every tune makes a difference when you take it to the track. The only downside of this game is that they're several good automobiles that they didn't include and the cost of aftermarket parts are WAY too expensive. Other than that, it's a pretty good game.I was surprised when I saw that this game was rated so low, because being a car enthusiast, I look for car games to satisfy every aspect of automobiles. NFS ProStreet Rocks.
I bought NFS ProStreet because I like the Need For Speed series. My wife had gotten me a new Qosmio laptop and what better way to test its capabilities. At age fifty, I'm having a blast going through the various challenges and driving the various cars. It's easy to learn to play and you have to be patient with game loading, a little slow on a laptop. Once you get a race going, the fun is on. I recommend it to anyone who loves driving simulators, this one doesn't disappoint. As an old racer myself, my only complaint is that I don't have any tactile feedback! It would be nice to feel the g-forces, inertia, bumps on the track, vibrations through the frame.......
