Notes
The amazing thing to me is that the Holy Spirit has chosen to reveal the heart of Christ to me through songs. I simply writes down the message as the Holy Spirit ministers it to me. I pour out my heart to Him and He pours out His heart to me - and I in turn desire that you hear the heart of Jesus for you. "I Love You, Jesus" was written in the passion of first love as a personal love song shortly after I gave my life to Christ. But then twenty years later I was at a place where I realized I had been too busy and needed to get back to the tenderness of that first love. While praying on my rooftop in Manhattan, Jesus asked me to remember when every promise He'd once spoken seemed only for me and I heard Him "Calling My Name." After a lengthy illness and exhaustion had taken it's toll on me emotionally and physically, discouragement and weakness plagued me. I was having one of those days when I received the most intimate and loving expression of Jesus' love for me through the song, "When I Don't Understand." My heart's cry is that He would "give strength I've never had so that others might know [He] calls not the righteous but weak for [His] own." The song "In The Quiet Times" is particularly special to me as it was during the recording of this song that the Lord completely healed me of a serious respiratory illness. He literally gave me the breath of life in the studio as I was singing it. I would never have heard one of these songs in my spirit if I had not had my Quiet Times with the Lord. My prayer for you is that in your Quiet Times you will experience His voice speaking to your heart and you will find healing in those areas of your deepest need. Carter Conlon.
