Boxing for the Intellivision is a two-player, side-view game with six color-coded boxers to choose from, each with his own fighting attributes (such as balance and offensive power) and level of endurance. There is no computer opponent featured.
Points in this game are awarded for each punch that is landed. Point totals are kept for each round and for the entire fight. When your fighter goes down, matters are out of your hands. It is up to the computer to decide whether or not he is capable of getting up.
By pressing buttons on the keypad, your fighter can throw high, straight, and low punches with either hand. Boxers can also pull punches and duck to avoid getting hit. You win or lose a match by points after 15 rounds or by knockout.
