When I ordered the igniter for my oven I decided to also replace the one for the broiler which is also the same part number so I ordered two. The delivery date was originally supposed to be on a Tuesday but it arrived 4 days earlier on the Saturday prior. This was perfect timing as we had already been without an oven for a week before I found this igniter. There are minor modifications that you have to make to them prior to installation that includes cutting the wires off of the old igniter and then splicing it to the new one so you maintain the same connectors. When you do make sure to cut the entire old wire off of the old connector as when you splice them together they tend to be a little shorter that you may anticipate. This should leave you with enough wire should you have to run the wire around any of the valves and piping at the back underside of the oven. Once installed my oven heated from 0 to 350 degrees in about 4 minutes. Prior to the installation it took nearly 25 minutes to warm the oven up to 350 degrees, so the igniter did what it was supposed to do. When you do this job it is much easier taking the oven door totally off by holding both sides of the door in each hand and pulling straight up until the door slides up and off. You will also need to take the bottom drawer below the oven door entirely out. Have a vacuum cleaner ready as there will be a ton of dust and everything that you've ever dropped alongside and in back of the oven. It's just much easier working with all of that dust out of the way. When installing the igniter in the broiler you will also need to pull the oven away from the wall and remove an access panel behind the oven. Same goes for the wiring, leave yourself enough wire to route around things and be careful to not over-tighten the ceramic nuts that they give you to splice your new igniter to your old igniter's wires. I hope this helps.Vollständige Rezension lesen

Quality product and easy too install. The part worked on my old Kenmore gas oven. Came with instructions and all necessary hardware, including screws, wire nuts and bracket. My oven did not have the quick connect fitting but I was able to match the wiring from the part I was replacing. The wire nuts are ceramic and the wiring has thermally protected insulation to withstand the heat. Took about 30 minutes to replace. I needed to pull the oven away from the wall to disconnect the electrical cord. Be careful not to over extend the flexible gas connection. (Allow additional time to clean the floor and cabinet sides that surround the oven).

This particular part is a bit higher cost than some other similar igniters you will find. However, there is a difference in quality, and that, as always, costs a bit more. I bought a similar lower priced igniter to have on hand if my top broiler igniter goes out, cause my oven igniter is more important as I use it much more often. The lower priced unit looks similar but the wires are of a typical and lower quality than the wires on this piece. The wires on this igniter are made of thick waxed cloth like material instead of the standard PVC type plastic sheath. The original igniter also has this thick waxed cloth like material, and that indicates to me that this piece is more OEM in construction and quality compared to the lower priced pieces. I have another oven down stairs and a few months ago it's igniter went out. I went with the lowest cost "OEM equivalent" I could find. The problem? It wouldn't mount properly, and I had to fiddle with it to get it to mount up, and when I finally got it tightened on it wouldn't ignite the flame. These igniters have to get up to a VERY hot temp and they will glow VERY brightly to do so. The cheaper one that I got for the downstairs oven didn't work, so I had to pay again and got a better quality OEM unit, similar in construction to this one, and that one worked. Lesson learned. I LOVE a great deal like everyone else, but sometimes when something is not that expensive to begin with, you have to wonder how cheap is too cheap? The OEM pieces I was finding were around the $63, so this piece was actually a great deal as it's OEM and nearly half the price. SOLD! It works great! I recommend it. The seller was fast and I got the igniter within 2 days after ordering.Vollständige Rezension lesen

Was told I needed to spend $350+ for a new control panel for my gas oven. Did a little research and decided to try replacing the igniter first. Husband switched it out in under 30 minutes, for less than $25. Amazing! We also received the part a day sooner than promised, so a total win-win situation for us.

Watched a YouTube video on how to get at the igniter, then made the swap using this part. Fired right up. Very happy to have the oven back online, at a good savings. You'll need a 1/4" socket with extension to get at the bolts that hold on the burner tube in the back. It's a bit of a reach.
