Why did they do that?
I had read the book and most of the Covert One books and they have been good reading. I was really looking forward to seeing this made for TV movie, to only be disappointed by it. Stephen Dorff was not my 1st choice to play Jonathon Smith, but he was ok. Mira Sorvino was also not my 1st choice to play Randy Russell, though in the movie she was Rachel. (Why change her name) In the book she worked for the CIA, not Covert One. (Why, there was a tension between Randy and Jon, because she didn't know where or who he worked for) In the book, Covert One was all but single agent cells, and Fred Klein was there boss and had a secretary, but in the movie they were more like a CIA office. (Why) Randy Russell was also Sofie's sister and Jonathon was engaged to Sofie. They made all these changes when ... I really liked the movie because I love Robert Ludlum's Covert One stories. The only thing, you should watch the movie first and then read the book. I think they changed the story from the book a little bet too much, and got rid of some pretty good characters that they had on the book. If you just watch the movie without reading the book, it is an awesome movie! I think I have too much of a tendency to compare the books with the movies, and it may not be fair. If you like espionage movies, please go ahead and watch this movie!I really liked the movie because I love Robert Ludlum's Covert One stories. Absolutely Amazing!
This is a great TV Mini-Series/Movie...I love Covert One, and this DVD is awesome! John Smith is a great character and the outcome will surprise you at first, but you can kind of see it coming...Kinda scary that some terrorist can get away with certain things, but Dr. John Smith and Covert One are a great comparison to 24's Jack Bauer and CTU!

The Virus and The Truth
Robert Ludlum's Covert One - The Hades Factor is an interesting movie - yet scarey to think a virus can actualy spread this way from Afghanistan. Great thriller and action. Covert One is a special agency of the CIA that is not talked about or known about. They are investigating a deadly disease with direct report to the president. Great Stars - Blair Underwood, Stephen Dorff, Mira Sorvino. dvd review
Very good story and followed the book's plot but it did not include much character development and humor.Do not read the book first. You can read it after and really enjoy it.
