If you're a true pro wrestling fan, or even just a "sports entertainment" guy or gal, this is a small treasure from TNA. Obviously, most of the great moments from Kurt Angle's career aren't included, as the WWE is not known for being generous with their "exclusive" footage. But the matches included here are proof that, no matter how many injuries Angle suffered in both amateur and pro wrestling, he hasn't lost a thing. He's far too intense, far too proud, of an athlete to give anything less than his all. I was fortunate enough to attend a recent (Lockdown, April 2010) PPV held by TNA, and even more fortunate to be in the 5th row. This great competitor, who by all rights should be winding down a hall of fame career, instead battled Mr. Anderson in a cage, fighting and scrapping for the fans' enjoyment. You'd think going from Wrestlemania in front of 70,000 folks to a comparatively minor league (though far superior, in my mind) federation would affect a workers' psyche-Angle put that theory to bed about 20 minutes in, when he connected with a moonsault from the TOP OF THE STEEL CAGE. And believe me, as awesome as it is on DVD, it's that much more incredible witnessing it close up. This DVD contains several interviews from family and friends, as well as properly awed fellow wrestlers, all paying testament to the courage and abilities of the great Kurt Angle. While this is hardly a warts and all tell-all, it remains a fantastic testament to one of the finest to ever enter the squared circle. The matches contained show not only Angle's skills, but his team spirit as he puts over young talent in a way that very few of today's paranoid superstars would ever dream of. That, folks, is class. I agree with the other eBayer's review. This DVD is great, possibly the best ever from TNA Home Video from an all around quality stand point. It's filled with great matches, and even has a documentary (with the matches in between topics) that is very high budget. This is almost up there with WWE video production values and this is the one that WWE dropped the ball on. Kurt discusses everything from his childhood, teenage years, his sports background, training for the World Championships and then the 1996 Olympics, including his severe neck injury and how he was able to not only compete, but WIN a Gold Medal with a broken neck. This is my favorite part of the DVD because it really shows Kurt's desire and dedication to wrestling. There isn't a whole lot of talk about his time in WWE because Vinnie Mac most likely threatened legal action. However he does talk about WHY he left WWE and what Vince said to him before he left which made me think even less of Vince. If you don't already know what Vince said, you will be shocked, offended and disgusted because it not only degrades Kurt, but also the Olympics and the United States as a whole. It's really shows what kind of man Vince really is. From here we go into how his deal with TNA came about, why he picked Samoa Joe to debut against, and everything else you've wanted to know about his TNA career, including his injuries, and his possible future in MMA. This DVD is fantastic and I recommend it to fans of Pro Wrestling, as well as fans of Ameteur Wrestling, fans of the Olympics, fans of Kurt himself, and especially recommended for people who are NOT fans of Kurt because I think this DVD will win you over. Now as the other reviewer pointed out there is no WWE footage because Vince owns the footage and well, he's... ...well I won't go there. There are great TNA matches however including matches with Samoa Joe, Yuji Nagata and more. And by the way I don't see why the other review got a negative rating, let's not hate people!! Excellent DVD production on this one. Alot of backstory from Kurt about his past, the Olympic gold medal, and his current TNA career. Obviously, no WWF/WWE footage. Still, an excellent watch with some really good matches. TNA is more about actual wrestling than the other company, so you get the best of professional wrestling's greatest worker of this generation. When all is said and done, Kurt Angle will probably go down in history as wrestling's greatest technician ever.
Liked learning about Kurt Angles childhood and so on, but the matches featured were not some of his best. At times it seemed like this dvd was more about Samoa Joe, not Mr. Angle. All in all was a decent dvd for the price.
