  • Love this book!!

I bought this book for a literature class I'm teaching at our homeschool co-op. The class consists of 3rd - 5th grade children, mostly boys. I read the book before starting the class and found it very enjoyable. I really like the author's writing style. It is very entertaining and interesting. The children in my class are loving it too. They are asking their moms if they can read ahead at home each week. Maniac Magee also opens up a variety of tough topics for kids to deal with, such as homelessness, segregation, bullying, and death. But Jerry Spinelli is able to present these issues in a way that doesn't feel too heavy for the kids to handle. They are woven into a story that the children are loving to read. I highly recommend this book!

  • Great Value

My son needed this book for a homework reading assignment for middle school. I tried the public library, but of course I was too late, they had all been checked out. I then decided to try e-Bay, which was a great decision. There were quite a few books available from new to used. I found the one I wanted with ease, and recieved it in a very short time. e-Bay has always been a great source for buying and selling, thanks and keep up the good work. donn1810

  • Okay but not good.

Most of the books were in good condition, but about 3-4 had damaged covers and a lot of writing. I bought a few more books to supplement for the damaged ones.

  • Well written novel

This book was a required read for my son 5th grade class. So far he's seems to enjoy it as well as the participation he and his classmates have in discussing the issues.
