Great product for the cost!
I honestly wasn't expecting much for $20 including shipping. We all know that a quality Snap on or Matco unit is going to set you back a few hundred bucks, even the Harbor Freight unit sells for around $60. So like I said, wasn't expecting to much. Well, it works just as it should, not quite as sensitive as some of the brand names, however a good solid unit that does do what it says. I wouldn't buy this if you are a professional, however for the home mechanic or guy just getting started this item is a no brainer and the price is excellent. You will in fact find a refrigerant leak with it. I would recommend it for sure. Very simple on/off dial, takes four AAA batteries, includes a storage pouch and instructions. Exceptional accurate affordable leak detector
Been an HVAC guy for 40 years. Used the very best name brand leak detectors. I purchased this unit for a very reasonable price, 75% lower then a name brand. Found it to be very accurate and as good as best. Its the new high tech electronics we are fortunate to have. I highly recommend buying a couple of these detectors. Can't go wrong.

great for shade-tree mechanic. very sensitive
I wouldn't trust my day job to any of these lower-priced units, but for the weekend mechanic checking for leaks once or twice a year, this is a great unit. And it really is sensitive. Picks up leaks that soapy water didn't

AC refrigerant leak detector
A good quality inexpensive leak detector. We're using this detector in a professional auto repair shop. It works well at finding refrigerant leaks in automotive ac systems but is not overly sensitive to give false positives as some of our other detectors do. It is capable of finding small leaks when used according to directions. It's a good product for the price. We will likely purchase a second one for the shop.A good quality inexpensive leak detector. Works GREAT, very sensative
This leak detector works so good it will detect seepage that is so small it takes two years for the Freon level in the system to loose one 12 ounce can. All you have to do to check your compressor seals is to hold the sensor under the front part of the compressor under the clutch and it will beep if there is a leak. it will detect "seepage from the hose connections that are so small their not noticeable in Freon loss. I would recommend this one to anyone that wants a GREAT compact leak detector.This leak detector works so good it will detect seepage that is so small it takes two years for the Freon level in the system to loose one 12 ounce can.
