A pearl from Steve Earle
Superior Steve Earle recording - a little bit of zydeco, bluegrass, rock, country, a touch of folk, and lots of story-telling from the talented and irrepressible singer-songwriter. My personal favorite is "Every Part of Me", but the whole package pleases. I like the digipak exterior with the surrealistic artwork on the cover. I read a sample of his matching-titled book, but I couldn't get into it. It was fiction, where his music always sounds like from his inner conflicts and real world loves, and that rings more true for me. To me it was even better than "El Corazon" and "Washington Square Serenade", although the former is very good.

40 years young and still painting the Museum "read"
In revisiting E. L. Konigsberg's wonderful 1967 Newbery Award-winning novel for children I fell in love with it all over again! Now I'm certain my 5th graders will also enjoy it as the time-travel is gentle and does not detract from the ageless story of a need to be noticed, to be unique, to make a difference. The drawings, though in black and white, add to the charm of the novel and allow the reader to get deeper into the very three-dimensional characters. The variety of covers used over the years has confused my students a little, as they've searched book stores and libraries for their copies, but the contents are worth their trips. Here's hoping everyone gets to hide at the Metropolitan, if only for the few hours it takes to read this delightful book.
