I bought a new k ride to go with my old K hi hats and it was much brighter and did not blend at all. It sounded nothing like an old K. It sounded good! but is sounded a lot like a 2002 ride I had, just warmer and not as many hi end overtones. I paired it up with a pair new beats and have the bright and louder music covered fairly well. I wanted as dark of a ride as I could get to go with my really dark K hats so I got this K custom dark ride. This ride covers a specific area of music. It is a great ride for medium and medium loud music. It is also a really good ride for not busy music, jazz, blues, or 3 piece where you need some fill to keep the stage from sounding empty. It has many different tones as you move up and down the bow. If the stage is full of sound, or there are loud distorted guitars or a lot of instruments playing loud; this ride gets lost in the sound. It is not a ride that has a lot of cut. If you play loud hard rock; this ride was not made for you. It is my main ride and I always use it except for really loud music. I love this ride! It is dark and pretty but not too dry. It has a lot of wash but it does not build up too much. It is a good crash also. I call it the grand piano sounding ride cymbal. You can use small tip wood or nylon tips to kinda get some brightness out of this ride if it is the only one you have. I would say this ride would work well for anything but metal or high volume music.Vollständige Rezension lesen
Definitely one of the best rides I've ever played on. Very dark with minimal overtones. I use mine in church mostly and it is perfect for worship environments. However, I'd recommend this ride for whatever type of music you plan on using it for. Highly recommend this thing of beauty and it's definitely worth the price.

Just what I needed. Perfect for Jazz, beautiful crash and rides as if it has rivets. Recommend it to anyone looking for a traditional Jazz sound.

Very versatile ride cymbal. Listened to a lot of Zildjian K ride cymbals. Each one has its own character and tendency toward a specific genre of music. Being a session (reading) musician, I needed a cymbal that would work regardless of what style I ended up playing. This ride just sounded like a classic ride should to my ear. Enough stick articulation with just enough wash and blend. The 22" seemed to have too much sustain and wash for me so I went with the 20". If you need a versatile quality ride to put in your cymbal bag that will work for you night after night and year after year this is one you should seriously consider.
I love it.
