Prior to the CP4, I had a Yamaha S90 and a Nord Electro 3. I frequently played the NE3 piano sounds using the S90 as controller. I sold both and needed a replacement with great key action and piano sounds. I picked the CP4 after trying it against the Roland R800, Nord Piano 2, Nord Piano 3 (not released at that time), Nord Stage 2 EX, Yamaha CP40, Casio PX-5 and Korg SV-1 88. I love the piano library and the direct controls of the Nord. However, I settled for the CP4 principally for the key action and the sound. I love this keyboard. It just inspires you to sit and play for hours. After a month, here are my pros and cons Pros of the CP4 - Hammer action is amazing, one of my favorites out there with the NP3 (tried at NAMM). It's perfect for acoustic pianos - Sound library is one of the best. AcPianos (mono, stereo, opened or closed lid, etc..), EPs (with different amps), Clavs and even the other sounds are solid - Ability to tweak the sound. There are controls directly accessible on the front of the keyboard (5-band EQ, chorus and reverb). however, it's also possible to access 2 other effects in the menu like amp simulation, phaser, delay, etc... So basically, the CP4 is as tweak able as a Nord. - Weight - Simple but effective on-board metronome. no more practice without metronome - Record to and playback from USB key. It's super time saving to keep ideas. - Audio input to play tracks from my phone. Perfect for practice. - Mod and Pitch wheels. Practical when controlling soft synths Cons - Plastic enclosure, feels cheap and wonder how it would survive traveling for gigs - Nothing else to reportVollständige Rezension lesen

Awesome keyboard!! playing 40 years and I love it! Don't be fooled by those who say it is light weight tho-. It is still nearly 45lbs a far cry from my old Casio. But the SOUND IS RICH and very expressive especially at the low and high ends. A far cry from the Casio. I would recommend this keyboard to any stage performer.

the good: sound quality, feel of keyboard is inspiring to play, solid feeling key bed, not noisy or klunky like some ive played. motif sounds are nice addition and work well when layering and splitting keyboard. the not so good; placement of the pitch bend and mod wheel, not a big deal but its a little bit of a stretch to reach it. wish they would have included more motif sounds. the organ is ok but not as inspiring as the pianos ect. i do realize its a stage piano and not a b3 clone but there are better organs in the motif library than the ones provided. not a deal breaker on me not recommending this to others. too much reverb on factory patches. it takes time to tweak them where they are more usable in more playing contexts. price: it would be nice if this came in at 1299.00

I finally found it! I finally found the stage piano that is both simple to use and exquisite sounding. With great action and superior piano sounds the CP4 does for me what I needed on stage without the bells and whistles getting in the way and confusing the issue. I love being able to stack sounds and having the ability to mix them or mute them on the go. The CP4 is the best I've ever played and maybe the best I've ever heard! Yamaha's best sounding pianos in a simple and intuitive format. Home run for sure!

I did a lot of research before I decided on the Yamaha CP4, so was I excited to find this deal on eBay. It arrived in mint condition, like it was advertised. I played it in my first gig last weekend, and it worked beautifully. Thank you so much!
