I had one from new and loved it, as it was so well made. Sadly, it got damaged beyond repair so, I got myself one of the latest with a large black viewing screen that takes pictures at resolutions that go up to 12 Mega pixels. It takes excellent photos and is easier to download them onto my PC but, it doesn't have a built-in viewfinder so, in sunny conditions it isn't always possible to frame shots properly as you sometimes can't see the image. I was really pleased with the replacement I bought on e bay so, why not treat yourself. OK it may seem a bit self indulgent to have two digital cameras that do pretty much the same thing but, I much prefer the shape, feel and the controls of the earlier P150 model. It feels like an old friend and I still use the original black leather case that, because it was shaped to fit the P150, would have no longer been of any use.Vollständige Rezension lesen
After my P-100 took a dive during my holidays, instead of replacing it I up-graded it with a P-150. A wonderful purchase !! Simple to operate, good resolution and a great buy!!

I purchased one of these Sony DSC-P150 cameras from a Currys store shortly after they came on to the market. It has proved to be an excellent product; well built and versatile - and with the Carl Ziess lens the result has always been first class. Meanwhile, the DSC-P150 has long since been superceded, which means they are now available at a very affordable secondhand price, e.g., on eBay, consequently I bought myself another one as a spare. (They also have an eye-level viewfinder which is always handy).
Nice camera. Takes very good pictures. Better than comparable models. Pictures will usually come out well in auto mode but if you have a more challenging shot you have manual options for white balance, ISO, apeture, shutter speed, metering, focusing, you name it. You won't get more manual options in a compact! Battery life is great, and even though it was made in 2005 you still get 7.1 megapixels. And if you think it won't compete with a 10 or 8 megapixel camera think again. 7.1 is more than enough for A4 prints and fine for enlargements. I personally do not notice much difference in any camera when dropping to a resolution above 3 megapixels. Its all a bit of a gimmick. Lens quality is far more important and the carls zeiss optics ensure the images come out clear, detailed, and colourful (though not overly saturated). Also a little large and not that desirable when compared to latest canon's/panasonics. Lacks image stabilisation which is a pity. Only high end compacts, and all pansonic lumix's have it. The screen is only 1.8 inches, makes it hard to tell if your shot has come out well although the high resolution helps here. Otherwise its a great choice. If you want to spend less than £100 on a compact camera this is an interesting alternative to some flawed compacts. It will take better pictures than pretty much all of them. To get better image quality you need to spend £120 or so and that makes these something of a bargain. A good one should last and work reliably too.Vollständige Rezension lesen
