The refurbished Winegard Flatwave Amplified Antenna has great reception for distances up to 50 miles (the attached amplifier is powered by either a USB or AC plug, both are included). It comes with an extra long coax cable so you can find just the right position to place it. These digital indoor antennas are very sensitive. Just by moving it a few inches to the right or left, and you can either pick up more television channels, or lose some signals. Once you think it is in the optimal position, be sure to re-scan your television to pick up the maximum number of channels (and each channel has sub channels for added viewing (5.1, 5.2, 5.3 etc).

I live just 5 miles from the broadcast tower so I get the 2 stations they transmit. I'm in the river valley so I knew I would not get any other stations. Once I found the optimal spot for antenna placement the reception is excellent and crystal clear. I will say placement is very sensitive. I would get a clear signal but if I lifted a corner on antenna even a half an inch I would lose the signal completely. After trying several windows and walls upstairs I found the best location was in the basement on an interior load bearing wall which I found very odd but I get crystal clear reception. My advice is once you scan and find channels hold the antenna in your hands and move around the room turning slowing while watching the reception on your tv. Dont give up it was very frustrating as the slightest movement of antenna would cause signal to go in and out. I have antenna going into a splitter so I can use the one antenna on multiple tv's. Great value in my opinion and I would think if you live in a large city close to broadcast towers you would easily pickup several stations. Its great watching tv for free!Vollständige Rezension lesen

Simply put, this little easy to hide indoor antenna has tremendous receiving capability. I have a medium range -amplified- antenna mounted about eight feet over the top of my single story house roof. This little beast pulls in the same numer of channels as does the roof antenna. In Orange County, California, that's well over 200 digital channels. If you can live without ESPN, or Showtime, HBO - you know, those cable-only channels, you can save a lot of $$ on subscription fees. And the best part? Over the air broadcast reception with this little antenna has a picture debatedly BETTER than cable or dish.

I've purchased three different flat wall-mounted amplified antennas over three years, and this one is the best for pulling in signals in a 'low-'lying bottom-of-the-hill location. It is about 1 inch wider and about 1 inch taller than the other two (different brands). I use a signal-strength meter (that can be bought on-line) to give me the best location on the wall for the antenna. When finding the best location for this Winegard antenna with the signal strength meter, I am able to receive the majority of available OTA HDTV stations, including the hardest to get VHF ones (like channel 2 in my area). The other brand antennas can't pick up VHF Channel 2.

This is the way to go. I've bought four of these already. One for me and the others for friends and siblings. The amplified version is far and away above non-amplified antennas. We're cutting the (cable) cord, saving money, and receiving great content via over-the-air (OTA). I still have cable internet for over-the-top streaming content (OTT) which uses only one coax cable to my wi-fi router. Rather than just connect this antenna to one TV, I use the (now) unused coax cables running through the house to bring OTA to all of my TVs.
