I am a guitar as a hobby musician who has the following needs from this device: 1. needed multiple inputs for recording practice sessions with friends and family 2. Interface needs to work with Mac and iPad 3. Needs to be easy to use 4. Needs to have good sound. Previously, I had used an iRig which has pretty weak sound and only 1 input. Upon receiving the UR44, there were several hoops to jump thru 1. Security on the software for this and Cubase is old school and a bit of pain. You need to install a eLicenser software which also had to be updated and didn't work upon first install. The device needed a firmware update which crashed the free Cubase AI software. After reinstalling all software and firmware (in correct order), everything finally worked. Once it worked, it has been awesome. The audio quality is amazing for the price. The sound of the guitar running thru this device is studio quality (at least to my ears). This interface gives me a lot of possibilities for recording and playing live. I have tested it with Cubasis (iPad), Garageband for Mac, Cubase AI and Ableton Live and it sounds great with each one. Vollständige Rezension lesen

I own the iPad pro. I bought many other competing well known similar price and feature set units to try. Let me get right to the point currently this is the only one-as with any steinberg unit-that has true professional capabilities meaning you can easily punch in a segment without doing any re-routing with input output bus in software or hardware-using and please take note-cubasis. Steinberg owns the tech that allows this-yes some other units allow recording-some simply don't work with latest iOS-but aren't telling you until you buy it and have to return it. So if you need to work like with nuendo or cubase on a desktop with proper punch in punch out -direct monitoring with no games-that's the way to do it. That being said once I track into cubasis-I mix in Auria Pro-bar none the best iOS daw with the exception of the punch in dilemma. So track in cubasis and mix in Auria.Vollständige Rezension lesen

This unit arrived packed well in the box. After unpacking it was obvious it was a well built unit. Listening through headphones it was clearly a quiet unit. It to get setup which seems normal for Steinberg items. Templates are provided to get you up and going quickly but they only cover the 1-4 channels leaving you to map channels 5 and 6. I bought this in part to record old analog 4 track tapes to digital. However channels 1-2 have higher power than 3-6 and there is no input gain for channels 5-6 so you have to find the right mix of channels 1-4 to keep all 4 tracks the same. Also it comes with extra plug ins such as distortion and reverb but you cannot use the interface they provide while you use Cubase. You have to go into Cubase in the mixer section to as the effects. Setting up the input and output mapping then adjusting the plug ins in Cubase is confusing for a newbie. Once it's figured out, the unit is solid and works very well.Vollständige Rezension lesen

I bought this unit based on a friend's recommendation. He said it was so easy to use and he was right. I like it so much that I bought a second one. It sounds great! I keep one hooked up all the time, at home. Everything is plugged in and ready to record at any time. The other is in my gig rig for live recording. Simply hook it to a laptop, and go. The Cubase that comes with it can be a bit of a pain to get set up and going, but it is a nice program. But you can use other recording software. The UR44 works with many recording programs.

Great with little to no latency, durable and easy to upgrade. Software is fun to use and very easy. The Elements upgrade is only 50$
