VERY GOOD EASY TO USE.VERY VALUE FOR THE MONEY AND PRINTING IS CLEAR THE CASE IS VERY COMPART GOOD ENOUGH.
I've had 4 of these cameras now - two have died in action (one in the sea, one in the desert), two are still going strong. It's a good compact camera, and gives a decent result, despite not having anywhere near the current number of pixels in the CCD. Some of these can suffer from blurred light/dark edges, so take a pic before buying. The battery life was always a problem (Sony recalled the unit long after it was out of guarantee), so turning off the LCD will help a lot on longer trips. The functions on the camera look quite dated compared to today's units, and the video recording is quite limited (5, 10 or 15 secs in a quite inefficient mpeg format creating large files for what they are), but for the price you can get one now, it's not bad. I'll be honest I'm only really sticking with mine as I have an underwater housing for it, but it's one of the original cameras that launched today's popular digital revolution.Vollständige Rezension lesen
Quite simply the best camera I have ever used, so easy to use with stunning pictures. Originally Sony's best selling camera a few years ago - now I can see why too, auto focus and clear sharp images every time. Great for daytime photography. Night shots have to be close up (around 4ft) as the flash is not as strong as some of the more up to date cameras - buy hey, this camera is only small! Sony also had some problems with some of these models not holding their battery charge but all DSC-P1 owners can send their camera off Free of Charge to get it fixed as I did. The battery door on the camera did not make a good enough contact with the battery so they replace the door conatcts. A quick repair and it gets sent back to you - problem solved! And also years of use from a super camera!
An ageing model but still usable. Most of the other reviews are pretty accurate - low power flash, battery charge problems, slow picture saving. However, the camera does produce reasonable quality pictures and is small and easy to carry. Quality of pics is OK as long as they aren't taken in low light and provided only small prints (no large enlargements) are made. I use Canon 40d SLR most of the time - but find the Sony OK for carrying anywhere & snapshots. Have had one with a Marine Casing since 2000 - have just bought two similar arrangements for my grandsons on Ebay - suppose it says something for the camera. Have found independant batteries and charger much better than the Sony originals - use PowerSmart batteries (Global Batteries).
Needed a USB cable to connect my existing Cyber shot to computer so I bought what I thought was another complete camera and cable set. Camera arrived on its own and the vendor when questioned stated he didnt have the cable and the small print in the auction didnt state with cables. Be warned fellow e-bayers - read the small print!. I now have 2 Cyber shots but no way to get the pics off onto computer. Anybody want 2 really decent handy cameras ?
