A good looking phone with a nice feel to it, the screen is very responsive and the live tiles are a great feature, however it is a bit hard to get the hang of, for instance, when you take a picture and open up the share options it gives you options to share via email, MMS or skydrive but not bluetooth, I still need to work out how to do this. The availability of aps is also limited, a lot of aps that are available on andriod are lacking on the windows phone, the battery life is poor, it will last the day in standby but if you use it a lot, as I do, it will need charging half way through the day, also the inability to choose a custom ringtone for your message alert is something that seems common on these smart phones, it would be nicde to be able to have a custom message tone, the ear piece is also very quite, when its on hands free it is loud and clear but when its not you have to get the phone in just the right possition to hear your call. However, despite all its bad pionts it does have lots of good pionts like the ability to set up multiple email accounts and pin them to the start so you can keep up with all your email accounts, which running a charity is very important for me. Overall its a good phone, be prepared for it to freeze every now and then and need re starting, just like a windows pc! I give it 4 out of 5 stars, if the problems I mentioned where fixed it would be a 5 star rating all the wayVollständige Rezension lesen
Always been a Nokia fan so wanted a Nokia Windows phone. The build quality is very good, I have an iphone 4 and this is at least as good a feel to it. The phone performs well most of the time, but does have a habit of attempting a voice search when not asked to? Screen quality is great and the large screen makes watching films very good. The windows software still doesn't access the BBC's iplayer and this is a real drawback compared to other systems; my old N8 did so this is a big step backwards from Nokia. Overall the phone is good; works well and is easy to navigate menus etc. I would probably buy another (Windows 8) but only when Nokia/ Windows allow access to iplayer/ 4OD etc.
This phone looks good. The live tiles are great. It would be better to have the option however of smaller sized tiles too. Apparently, Windows or Nokia won't allow you to personalise the e-mail alert and the text message alert! This is terrible. You are left with the manufacturer's stupid little 'noises'! It is awkward to use one handed, especially texting. There is not an option to text using the 'old-style' numbered keypad (with the letters in the backround). This worked and is not an option - shame. I find texting difficult using the keypad when it's perpendicular however when the phone is on it's horizontal, it's better (bigger 'keys'). The battery is terrible. 24hrs max (inc. sleeping!). This phone has a lot going on...it needs a better battery life. As long as you remember to charge daily, you'll be fine (but I don't profess to be on the Internet all the time mind you). ***This phone does NOT switch off when charging!!*** Why?! Defies logic. Therefore it takes slightly longer to charge and never really fully charges! Plus, you must remember to put it on silent daily when charging, especially when on shift work. The phone not turning off when charging is an issue! The History list for calls made is odd. It documents every single call made everytime you call the same person. My last phone, Nokia N8, did not show the same person called 50 times! It just changed the time and date when called against the name. (i.e. your partner's name only listed once; with the Lumia, it's dozens of times.). Another issue is when you are taking a call and at the same time, a txt or email alert comes through, it blasts through the earpiece, deafening you for a few seconds! The N8 muted this when on a call or sounded through the side speakers (not ear piece). I have been a die hard Nokia fan for many years and whilst this is great for Internet and looks good and has a quick, responsive processor, I will think twice next time. I just don't want to become an i-phone commoner!Vollständige Rezension lesen
I must admit my desire to continue to use window phone has not diminished. this is due to the fact that I have used 625 Nokia window phone since 2012 without a problem . However I had a problem with the battery for the first time, I decided to go to my local shop to purchase a new battery. But the price quoted was about £20.00 I declined , Hence I decided to purchase another phone on ebay. This was an upgrade from 625 to Nokia 900. It is compact, easy to use , it has 16gb memory card, very light to carry. I will recommend this phone to anyone .
