Real world review of this lens: in a word - brilliant. I use this professionally for documenting weddings and personally as my favourite family lens. It is sharp across the frame at all apertures, focus is spot on and has beautiful colour rendition. The out of focus areas are pleasant and for such a wide lens give it a very distinct character. Build quality is good but nothing stellar. The plastic barrel is strong and light and will withstand impacts pretty well but at the end of the day, it's a plastic barrel. It's pretty big for a 24 and quite hefty. Value is subjective. I justify the cost as it's my main lens for weddings so in a professional sense, it is necessary. But whichever way you look at it, £1500+ (£1900 when launched) for a fixed length lens is a lot of money. It won't suit everyone. 24mm is quite limited application and unless you know you need that length, there may be better lenses suited. It's pointless on a DX body (D300, D90, D7000, etc) - you'd be paying for frame coverage that's not necessary. For the majority of FX users, the sublimely brilliant 35 f/2 might be a better option. It's only a little longer focally, a stop slower and is much smaller, lighter and cheaper. All that said, if you know you need it, it is a stunning lens and in my opinion the best of the new Nikon fast primes.Vollständige Rezension lesen
