Hydrologically, Pakistan has three main brains namely Indus Basin, Kharan Closed Basin and Makran Coastal Basin. Out of them Indus occupies 70% of the reagons while each of remaining two has 15% of the area. The factors responsible for the reduction of water supply include increase in population, climate change, lack of construction of water reservirons and misplaced use of the Jhelum and Chenab rivers by India under Indus Water Treaty (IWT) of 1960. Groundwater table is declining, In the province of Punjab the decrease per year is from 4 feet to 7 feet. Sindh can not utilize groundwater due to its proximity with the sea. The Karaz (Under ground water) of Balochistan has dried up. Surface water is being used in the country after treatment. The monograph on Water Crisis in Pakistan is bound to have large circulation globally. It include some of the interested chapters. World Water Trends about Pakistan, Water Management, Water Resources of Pakistan and Urgent need of Kalabagh Dam. Khurshed Ahmed
