I have had several Motorola phones and never had a problem with any of them. The V170 is a very cheep one and seems to work great!! Good volume, easy to read display, sterdy flip cover so buttons are not exposed. Not bad looking either so if your looking for a pretty good, inexpensive phone.... check out the V170. .....Ryan.....
Okay first of all let me say that this phone back in 2003-04 when it came out crappily was 70 bucks, and now is like 15-10-5 etc. I have had 2 of these with the card phone tracfone service. I honestly liked it as my first flip phone but now I am not impressed seeing I have a cooler phone now then I did back then. The 1st phone was okay, I had it for like 2 months. I then switched to Verizon to the Samsung SGH u340, I got another as a backup phone in case I would need one for where Verizon didn't get reception. I left it for over 3 months, went to see if I had any minutes, the dang thing was dead. It sucked that it died, but it doesn't matter because I use verizon fully now.
Reliable Motorola flip-phone for use with Tracfone. An older model, but still very reliable & useful. And in-coming text messages are free! Loud ringer, good alarm clock, good voice and reception quality. Tracfone is an excellent pay-as-you-go choice for people who talk less than about 250 minutes per month.
This is a great little phone from Tracfone...I personally have not had any problems with Tracfone customer service. I like this phone because it is easy to use, it is small and when you receive text messages, is does not deduct units, only when you send a text message. I can even text family and friends in the U.K. whereas with the newer Tracfones, I am unable to receive text messages from overseas. Overall I have no problems at all with the phone or the service, and the battery on this phone lasts a long time before needing to be recharged. Only downfall is that it doesn't have a camera, but I have a digital camera for taking pictures, don't need one on my mobile phone.
I am glad I boght this phone. It is user-friendly and easy to use. I was lucky enough to find a black one which I prefer over silver. It is sleek and small, but perfect for someone who just needs a phone, without all the bells and whistles. Transferring minutes through tracfone is no small feat, so I suggest you just activate it like a new phone instead of an upgrade or transfer.
