The Garmin 235 is my favorite running watch by far, and I have owned several, also other brands. There are a couple of minor issues that does annoy me. But not to the degree where I consider using another watch. The 235 works extremely well as a running watch. The accuracy of the heart rate monitor is not as good as a chest-based one, but that is probably to be expected with the current state-of-the-art. I understand that on the 235 Garmin has implemented their own heart rate monitor vs. on the 225. Another issue is that I sometimes have to wait for a signal even if there is a signal in its watch-mode. Restarting running helps. I really expect this to be fixed in a firmware update. Those come regularly. Garmin has put restrictions on data access that I find appalling. I am not allowed access to raw data, which is relevant if one wants to analyse things differently than what is possible on Garmin Connect. Also there are issues when transferring data - You have to use Garmin Express or your phone, so if you want data to appear in e.g. Endomondo or on another running log you have to set this up using a third party tool. When it comes to using the 235 as a watch I only have two minor complaints: The watch is small and good-looking enough to use as an everyday watch (which is great!). But the start button is a bit too easy to trigger, so I have accidentally started an activity during the day when it wasn't intended. There is a key lock, but that locks all keys, including those you want to use during the day. The other issue is that the display is not very bright. I like to show an analog clock, but the arms of the clock are really dim. The auto-light-up by twisting my arm works - but not always. You sit and twist and jerk your arm around a few times before it lights up. Or perhaps there is a secret twist move that I haven't learned yet...? Some of the apps that you can add are next to useless, however. They require that there is connection to you phone, so why not open them on the phone instead? Now - if there was a wireless connection instead of the bluetooth connection it would be a whole other story. Like on the Adidas SmartRun. The wrist-band is great. The unit looks fabulous. You can change the display to some great looking ones. The running display is perfect. The battery time is great if you don't use the every day activity tracker. And I could go on... get it if you can live with the small annoying things I've described here. I certainly can.Vollständige Rezension lesen
