Streams in the Desert

I have used the devotional guide Streams in the Desert for about 20 in my personal devotions and Bible reading time. Even though it was written many years ago the entries are timeless and pertinent to what is going on in my life now. I purchased this as a gift for my brother-in-law, who is going through cancer. I thought it would be an encouragement to him as he goes through tough times that God has not forsaken him and is going through these tough times with him. Each day has a short scripture reading and then an application for the day. Each reading takes just a few minutes. I keep reading it year after year and make small notations about what I'm going through it life and how this applies. I love this book!!

Streams in the Desert by James Reimann, LB Cowman 1999

I love Streams in the Desert by LB Cowman, and thought I was purchasing the same thing. Upon arrival I realized that this was by James Reimann and the text was somewhat edited. I prefer the older English presentation of the original book and the Bible version that is used in the older book also. This one had more modern translations used in it. It would be fine for someone who is used to reading a modern Bible translation, but since I've used the older translations in the past, that is what I prefer. I have bought several of these to give as gifts and of course, to use personally and I will be more careful from now on to notice who is the author.
