Excellent Documentry. Highly recommended for WW II Hist
3 von 3 finden das hilfreich I have seen may WW II documentaries, but this one was very unique. It is mostly in color and a lot of the footage I have never seen in any other documentary. I have about 100 WW II history videos, so that says a lot. Some of the footage is very graphic, which for that time period to show, is rare. I would not compare to CSI or some of todays movies, BUT these events actually happened to real human beings. The opening scene of disk one shows a body lying on the road with vehicle's driving over it. Some Holocaust scenes are also very graphic, but I think these are necessary to show the true horrors of WAR.
The actual commentary part is not as good. Some mistakes were noted regarding dates of battles (Midway was listed as June 7, 1942, but was June 4, 1942)as well as a few others, but it is the footage I found the most dramatic. If you know your history, you pick up these errors, but I still highly recommend because of footage. It is NOT a propaganda type video, although some of the comments are anti-nazi, which is fine. Some of the other WW II video's I rated are very much propaganda, which is fine during the war, but not very good for historical purposes.
If you are passionate about WW II documentaries, you will want this for your collection. I would give it a 95 rating out of 100. Due to the more graphic nature, I would not recommend for younger viewers initially. Please watch and judge for yourself first.
