A standard common sense buying guide with Europa tweaks
I wouldn't bother. 80% common sense basic car buying info with 20% added on the specific car.
How could you possible get buy without such great words of wisdom in the "Serious Evaluation" section such as "The chassis is the heart of the car and can rust." or "The doors should fit nicely with reasonable panel gaps, and fit tightly against the door seals when closed." or "Tyres should be in good condition, with decent tread, and no cuts or tears in the sidewalls." or "While sitting in the car, check for any slack or play in the gear change. Do the clutch, choke, and throttle cables function smoothly? or "Do all the switches work properly? Check the lights, main beam, indicators, headlamp flasher, windows, fan, and horn." So glad I read all this. I wouldn't have had a clue otherwise. (sarcasm)
Chapters like "Inspection equipment" and "Auctions" I'm sure are basically the same for every one of these series of books with only light tweaks. Clearly what the publisher does is contact experts on specific cars and pay them to tweak their standard "Buyers Guide" to suit that car. They add unique things they might know, or fix items that are unique (such as Europa glass body, engine options and quirks, common fault areas, etc...). No bash on Matthew Vale, most of what he states is accurate but it's lean.
I guess if you are spending $20K on a car if you get one or two tidbits from this it can pay for itself, but if you are looking for a pure Europa book, ...forget it.
