Standard Motor Products US176 Ignition Switch And Lock Cylinder

Excellent product line

For many years I've been using Standard Motor Products in many of the vehicles I've owned or worked on. In the case of this ignition switch it is top quality... it replaced a cheesy crimped together one that came with an aftermarket wiring kit. That switch kept rotating and causing the starter to lock up. The SMP switch has a one piece cast metal housing that is very rugged and will last for years to come. But that is typical of everything SMP makes... which makes me a customer for life. The SMP stop light and reverse switches I got 8 years ago for the same vehicle still work beautifully. The only suggestion I have is that SMP provides a wiring diagram or codes the back of the switch in common, everyday abbreviations.. such as "BATT" for battery... Otherwise all else such as "IGN" and "ACC" made sense. All in all SMP were quick in answering my questions on coding the terminals... and all works just as it should. "Thanks!" Excellent product line...
