Watch a retrospective and save your money
DMC 1 terrible gameplay, subpar camera, the inclusion of puzzles, too many times in a level you have to find item X or Y to progress which is annoying. You cannot sprint
DMC2 more open setting, DT is customisable, dedicated dodge button, Dante's best design in the series. Unforutnately this is followed by a worse combo system than 1, timing in 1 was essential for combo variations, in 2 it's random. Auto lock on, you have no option to attack aerial enemies besides Ebony & Ivory. Lucia has the better game play but underwater levels never again please.
DMC3 great gameplay, first good game of the franchise. The second best gameplay in the series after 4. Better story, mor interaction and cutscenes.

Fun game
A fun game, great gameplay haven’t had this much fun in a samurai game since Genji on PS2. When you take into account that this the project of the developers behind inFamous and Sly Cooper it is even more impressive. Play in Japanese, more immersive and sounds better.With that being said the only con is the value, overpriced in my opinion considering this is a rerelease of a PS4 game, yes it comes with an expansion but should have been optional or at least give the option to buy separately and not charge full price for content that I may or may not want.
