replace the cups
I didn't find the ear pads to be comfortable so I ended up replacing them with much larger circumaural pads. The suspension system is a little weird but it works and seems comfortable so with the other change they seem to be working out just fine. The cable is detachable and comes with a threaded 1/4 adapter which is nice.

Sloppy but passable and cheap
The tolerances of this button set are a little bit off. The bottom trim piece didn't fit properly and caused a gap so I just reused the stock piece which was in OK condition. The left bumper is a little off too. There is some slop so you have to be more deliberate pressing it.
Overall it's okay for a seldom used backup controller but I don't know if I'd trust this kit to rebuild my favorite controller.

Frequently loses sync
I guess this would be OK for laptop use but with a desktop PC it loses sync every time the PC goes to sleep or you turn off the monitors, etc. Really just a pain to dig around for the little reset button which sometimes takes a few tries. Not worth the grief.
