A shipwreck in more ways than one.
Excellent movie! Three crew members from a ship wrecked on the rocks are washed ashore on an island with only 4 inhabitants--that they can see.
It's a story about love and the strength of interpersonal relationships.

1 von 1 finden das hilfreich This movie was part art history (Mexican masters Diego Rivera & Frida), Lifetime movie drama (married, divorced, betrayals, sexual experimentation), and political history (the assassination of Leon Trotsky).
Beautifully acted and photographed. A masterpiece for my collection.

The Rainmaker--You must live as each bird sings.
"If you don't believe in yourself, nobody else will." This line of dialog is one of the many jewels that are in this movie. "Starbuck" is speaking to Katherine Hepburn's character, who is facing a midlife crisis--unmarried and unloved as a woman. "Starbuck" loves her for a moment, and she changes, realizing at the same time that it is not in Starbuck's character to stay with her. She knows he also is looking for himself on her family's farm, where he had initially come to perform a miracle as a "rainmaker."
It did rain.
