Excellent look......but some manufacturing issues

This is a great coach. Colors are excellent. One of the best color schemes Lionel has used. One issue is that the back trucks do not seem to be properly attached (factory). I think it's an easy repair....but this is the second one I received that was "new". A Northern Pacific car I bought recently had the wheel trucks installed improperly. If that was not enough I bought a WEAVER ROYAL HUDSON. Same problem wheels were not attached properly. I was to get one brass washer (got two) and a C-Clip (which I did not get). These are great looking but I only collect (I do not run a layout). I sometime wonder how these cars would work for a 14 year old. This is an adult toy.

Title is okay, but contents do not live up to the billing.

Interesting, but not a great book. The research is good. The way it's written is not. Too light a treatment of the KKK.

Good Value!

I think this set is one of the "better value" sets produced by Lionel. Colors and detail much better than expected. The entire set has seven cars (counting add-ons) which I have bought and am completely satisfied with all! I do not run my trains (Display only) and this is a great display. Lionel should try a CNR set next.
