The Four Aces - The Essential Recordings [CD]

"In the Days of My Youth..."
I remember these guys when I was growing up in the '50s. My mom and dad used to watch 'Your Hit Parade' and shows like that before Elvis and the music scene changed for young kids and branched out in the late '50s into the '60s and the '70s. I bought this more as a trip down memory lane to remember my growing up years. I guess like my dad who grew up in the Jazz Age, I'm remembering the days of my youth in my later years now. It seems that's a disease we all catch eventually. I've done that with other singers from era - Billie Holiday, Frank Sinatra, Sarah Vaughn, Dinah Shore, etc.

Sega Sports Tennis (PS2)
This fell short of an excellent rating for me because the item was used. I don't remember the ad stating it was used. It was something I wanted to get for my daughter because she likes Venus and Serena and she was somewhat disappointed because the item was used. other than that, she enjoys it every much, which is why I'm giving the seller a good rating.

Tim Buckley 1st album
I can't believe I'm the first person to review this item! I remember this record came out in '66. I'd never heard of the Tim Buckley before. I ended up not buying the first go-round, but a couple of days later my brother was going to the record stores for some reason or the other and I asked him to pick up a record in the folk music section that I couldn't remember the name of the artist of. He ended up picking up David Blue's first album for me 'cause they both had curly hair and he didn't know which one I meant. I got the Tim Buckley one myself a week or so later and became a big Tim Buckley fan - also a David Blue fan, too, 'cause I liked his album equally well also. Over years I lost stuff, sold stuff and/or gave stuff away. I'm actually glad to finally get a copy of Tim's first record again. To me, the stand out songs are Song Slowly Song and Song for the Magician. I've always liked his more sad and lonely songs of lost love and heartache traveling through realms of dispair and misery over jazz overtones. HappySad is another classic album of his, as is Blue Afternoon and Lorca. He died way too young for such a talented artist, so did his son, by the way, Jeff Buckley, whom I also delved into because of Tim and found him equally talented in his own right.
