Bought it on sale, and it was fair enough for the price paid. If it is only available at full price, then I would go with a more established brand.
Despite having only one speaker, this multi-function system produces a very clear sound indeed. The internet radio seems to have been set up in a way that expects you to search for types of station you might like which is a good way to introduce you to channels new to you, but it's not as simple as it should be to find a channel you already know.
DAB+ comes through very cleanly and is easy to search for. Favourites on both are simple to set. However, there is something a bit buggy in that sometimes one favourite will play a different, random station. This seems to be particularly the case with BBC "extra" stations e.g. Radio 4 Extra, set as a favourite has thus far played Radio 1 Extra, BBC Asian Network and BBC World Service, all claiming to be Radio 4 Extra. The problem was solved by re-scanning the stations and keeping presets but we've had a Pure radio for nearly 12 years now and have NEVER needed to rescan to ensure that BBC favourites stay programmed properly.
The CD player didn't like the first CD we put in, playing only 2 tracks of it but the second was fine and it seems to be behaving impeccably at the moment. So we'll assume that the first one selected was the problem, not the unit.
