Marvelous, great all-round heat system

When I first got it I took off the lid and checked inside at the quality of the wiring and board structure. It seems excellent and clean. Everything was provided that was listed and so far it has worked for about 6hrs without any problems. The optional internal regulated power supply is a very useful extra which saves time scrabbling about to wire up a circuit. With fiddly SMD parts it is not always obvious when joints have not made- so there can be testing and retesting. Would have liked to have the one with an adjustable current limit too but was unaware that some do have and some don't. The soldering iron is a great leap forward from the days of the Weller Coopers irons with the magnetic tips; much nicer to hold and lighter and slimmer. Warm up time is excellent. A temperature guide to what is needed for the various types of solder would have been useful; maybe a changing display colour when lead solder and then tin solder temps are reached. For cleaning the iron tip I would have preferred a stainless brillo pad- rather than a sponge. The SMD funnel blower adaptors have square nuts on their clamps but nothing to stop the nuts from spinning (necessitating both a screwdriver and a spanner- needs a little bit of re-engineering??
