Excellent Visual Survey of Medieval Monsters

I know the scholarship of both authors to be top notch. Mittman is one of the top experts in the field of monster studies. The book is tied to an exhibition at the Morgan Library, but is organized less like a catalogue and more like a coffee table book, aimed at both a specialized audience of medieval scholars and a general audience. It strikes a good balance at informing the widest possible audience. The images of the medieval manuscripts and art are very well presented. It is also a good representation of various categories of medieval monstrosity.
