comprehensive.
the first edition of the GLOSSARY was published in 1959, when such a publication was needed. then four decades later(2000) a comprehensive update was needed. this book is for any body who has an interest in meteorology or related fields. the definitions are short but precise. and generally not to technical. however a basic background in the subject is helpful. according to the american meteorological society's web page this second edition is meant to be a living document. with corrections and additions added constantly. you may want to consult the GLOSSARY 'S webpage, which is found on the a.m.s. website. this book is highly recommended for anybody reading meteorological journals - who has a need to define terms as they go along.
