It's a Dictionary - about Law! From Oxford...!
From the very beginning ("Abandonment") to the very end ("zero-rated supply") this dictionary will have you on the edge of your seat, gasping with surprise and delight. It never loses its way - not even in the middle as you are confronted with"disentailment", "Hague Rules" and "misprision" - you will bound along in your wig and gown, desperate for the truth. Only by the time you stumble through "zealous witness" will you know you've been had, but by then it's too late. You will only know that you've swallowed a dictionary; a very well presented, attractive dictionary. A book that you can leave lying around the house with confidence, knowing that it probably won't harm the kids and only make them ask "Why is Daddy going back to University?". How you choose to answer that question may be found between the covers of this book. I rest my case.

A great page-turner for boys and girls
Set during WW2 in the South East of England, the story follows a group of friends who are dealing with the fear and excitement of the War - the noise and action of the bombing raids, the troops going off to war and being naturally partisan to the British side of the conflict. One day, a German bomber is shot down and they get there as the first and only finders, eager for souvenirs ahead of other groups of children. It has one of its machine guns intact. They decide to steal it and enter the war for themselves. But the authorities are on their tails....
It's a great book. It has a great atmospheric view of a period in our history (the Blitz) that children should learn about. It covers friendship, loss, conflict and growing up. I haven't read it since I was 11 and have written this off the top of my head - it really is that enduring. My 10 year old son is reading it now and cannot put it down. Buy it. Money well spent.
