I LOVE the title--It says it ALL. Pictures are nice but not necessary. Everyone has that first loaf in their head.
It covers the bread world from basic to brioche & never disappointed in between. I have had the paper copy since 1969 & the pictures are always a plus in any book, BUT not necessarily needed as the recipes are all clearly provided once that first loaf of "whatever" recipe made comes out of the oven with its perfect completion.
From the basic breads or rolls to dessert breads(Amanda Bread) to fancy bread (Brioche), there is nothing more fun & gratifying in all the time spent, in that first taste of each one.
It has been my "go to" book since I purchased that first book-even without pictures.
I grind my own flours so these recipes give one the confidence that keep them making their own breads.
This picture book was gifted to a good friend that is starting breadmaking at the age of 72. Never too late to learn about something great to eat from a Farm Journal.
