silk road journeys
The Chinese pippa player, Wu Man, is on this album and also the album 'Cusp of Magic,' by the Kronos Quartet. Having her as a constant, I would say that Silk Road is good world music and a good intro to music of the east ( as well as a star vehicle for YoYo ). If you want to get deeper and you can't have both CDs go for the Kronos Quartet.

Good song selection. I like it because it is key of C or only F sharp or B flat. Only one or two exceptions. makes the music easy to sight read right off the bat. My level.
