I'm so glad that this part was still available
The Bolens 1741143 Pillow Block Bearing - NOS is used as the rear axle bearings in a 1970's vintage Bolens 28 inch riding mower and is probably an exact match to the part that failed, I say probably because the old failed part is so badly mangled that it almost don't look the same. Unfortunately my riding mower is at my cottage which is over 300 miles away and I won't be able to get back up there to install this part until next year.
I'm so glad that this part is still available, it saved me from having to cobble something together to keep the riding mower going.
As an aside, this bearing is a superb example of "old school" engineering that designed a part that's as cheap as can be made and still do its job reliably, for example, the hardened steel bushing that's pressed into that spherical part and the grease zerk screwed into the same spherical part are the only machined parts in the whole assembly! Everything else is stamped steel sheet metal!
