Plug design internally shorts, lowest quality possible
This right angle plug internally shorts do to horrible mechanical design. It will short if the ground solder tab is wiggled by the slightest 0.1mm off from a magical non shorting position.
Get this garbage off of the market. Wasted valuable time.
If you professionally solder instrument cable to this plug like any normal 1/4" male phone plug there is a 75% chance the connector will be shorted.
DO not buy this.

Resistive tape
Has consistent resistance, very linear. However do to age (NOS) the material may have changed in resistance.
