Essential to understand and act progressively in American politics!
An astounding documentary of the pinnacle of organized evil in American politics that is essential for any serious citizen activist to know and have "political literacy" to assess the news and daily developments of our society. Mayer somehow has managed to aggregate an inventory of the most brilliant, secretive, mobilization of billionaires and their funded mercenary intellectuals to neuter public democratic government. Once vilified and depleted of regulatory and social justice frameworks and power, government, the only political structure able to protect individuals and society from the marauding of the richiest sector, leaves the oligarchy to capture the society's wealth. To understand the content and impact of the 2017 Tax Reform Act passed by McConnell and Ryan one has to know that its design has been in the cooker for 30 years under the shaping hands of the Koch Brothers, (David and Charles) Americans for Prosperity to block any accountability or limits to their ultimate and calculating gangsterism. 83%of the $1.5 Trillion benefits to individuals and corporations will go to the top 1% of American families. So diabolical are the Kochs and their ilk, that their history, transparently narrated by Jane Mayer in Dark Money, that we can strip away the mystery and sense of ignorant helplessness that we suffer. Citizens United suddenly has an author, sponsors, and policy agenda grown from the relentless effort to gut our democracy and liberate the super-wealthy from any limits of subversion and planetary exploitation.
