Great potential, great sound, functional but with a defect. I may need to exchange...
Works well, I swapped out the included saphire starter stylus for diamons which sounds sweeter and will be more durable. Once or twice the belt or motor one has slipped a bit resulting in having to stop/restart because the speed was going erratic. The platter is either not installed properly or not molded properly. It has a wobble and if a heavier stock LP like 180 or 200 gram is on it, with each rotation the platter actually grazes the surface of the unit underneath. I wrote to Victrola and they advised the platter cannot be adjusted, that an exchange would be best option. But shipping would probably be pricy and I'm so pleased with the performance otherwise I'm hoping it will somehow break in and level off with a bit more use. It's been years and I'm just so happy to finally be enjoying my collection. And if this is a common issue, on a tight budget I'm concerned I may spend money to ship back, only to receive another unit with the same issues. The speakers are great, if I could send just the machine itself back, and receive another, tested machine, that would be great.
