Don't rush the setting up!
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich This is a good product, particularly at a second-hand price. Setting up via the app wasn't as straight-forward as I'd hoped, as my PlusNet modem / router doesn't allow me to turn off the router. Though I turned off the WiFi (which should have been enough), the app kept asking for the ISP broadband login and password - clearly irrelevant to it, as that was being handled by the modem. However, a quick search of the internet turned up where I'd gone wrong - I'd plugged the cable into the WAN port on the modem when it should have been one of the standard LAN ports. The post also said I should plug the other end into one of the LANs on the XT8, but in fact it worked fine on the WAN.
I chose XT8 units because they each have a USB 3.0 port, alongside 3 LAN's. That meant I could add an old non-wireless printer, an HDD docking station and 3 non-wireless desktop pc's to the setup - all working ok.
